Sponsorship Program For Disadvantaged Teenagers

VFCD started this program to help disadvantaged teenagers to complete their studies or training so that the dreams they have of a meaningful and sustainable lifestyle for themselves and their famililies can be realised. All of these young people have had many hardships in their lives but still have one final hurdle to overcome before they can find true happiness, this hurdle for many is usually the hardest and the point where most will fall without support.

All will have to find some kind of part-time work and study at the same time, unfortunately the wages they receive are barely enough to pay their tuition fees let alone pay for accommodation, meals and other necessities in life. VFCD accommodates and feeds some of these young people to help them along their path but we seek a more sustainable way of assisting them.

During your time in Vietnam you will teach at either the Vietnam International School or Sun School in a paid capacity with the payments going to the sponsored teenager of your choice. Also during this time you will have the opportunity to teach disadvantaged children at the Mai Am street kids school and an orphan school in Cau Giay District that VFCD supports. You will also have the opportunity to travel to the hometown of your sponsored teenager and meet their family members, a truly rewarding experience.

Volunteers have many choices as to how they spend their time with VFCD and this is another that will allow them to help in a truly meaningful way and also see them establish a life long friendship. You will have the opportunity to see first hand how hard life is for these young people.
