The summer camp was conducted over thirteen days and provided the volunteers with many varied and interesting activities leaving them with unforgettable memories and friendships. The volunteers will now carry this experience back to their daily lives knowing they have made a valuable contribution to a very needy community and they have also taken on Cultural learning of their own. Memories live in minds and also in these summer camp pictures from the mountain provinces in the north of Vietnam that the volunteers worked and played in.
VFCD is in a position to help these children. We offer a variety of programs such as extra-curricular activities, English skills, and IT skill training. We believe this can give these children an opportunity to integrate into the community. Our projects can boost confidence in a group of children that are often stigmatized by their circumstances. With long-term plans, the projects can help shorten the gap of knowledge and skills in every social field. In addition, communal activities organized by volunteers such as growing vegetable can raise their awareness of protecting environment and helping repair the dilapidated school can give them a sense of public duty, amongst others.
In 3 days from Friday, 13th to Sunday, 15th of March, VFCD including chairman, coordinators, international volunteers and internships went to Tuyen Quang province and enjoyed 3 volunteer days in countryside’s fresh air.
Tuyen Quang is a very nice place with palm tree forests, tea farms, poetic streams and green fields that make up an interesting destination to every people comes there.
Then we went to Tan Trao – the Green Capital. Many historical stories were recalled when we arrived Na Lua hut, Tan Trao Indian banyan tree and the Communal house. Our hearts were beaten up when we saw all the remained witnesses of the Vietnamese giant revolution. Besides, we also learnt some customs and habits of Tay ethnic minority through the story involved in the Swear Stone of the fighting will in August 1945.
